White Rabbit Poetry Society Event
White Rabbit Poetry Society Haiku Event
To kick off celebrations for World Poetry Day March 21, 2026, White Rabbit Poetry Society is hosting its first event!
Join us from March 3, 2026, to March 10, 2026, for a week dedicated to the beautiful, brief, and powerful world of Haiku. No matter your skill level, we invite you to slow down, observe a moment, and capture it in 5-7-5.
We’ll have a new prompt every day to stir your imagination. Then, on March 10, 2026, we’ll gather all our poems in a grand collective post!
The White Rabbit Tea Haiku Week Collection

Prompts
Day 1: Dawn. Focus: New beginnings, first light, waking up.
Prompt: “Write a haiku about the first moments of the day. What does the world look like as it wakes up?”
Day 2: Detours. Focus: Unexpected paths, wrong turns, surprises.
Prompt: “Sometimes the best discoveries are accidents. Write a haiku about taking the wrong path or finding something you weren’t looking for.”
Day 3: Pocket Treasures. Focus: Small, overlooked objects with meaning.
Prompt: “What do you keep in your pockets? A forgotten ticket, a smooth stone, a key? Write a haiku about a small, personal treasure.”
Day 4: Whispers. Focus: Quiet sounds, secrets, things left unsaid.
Prompt: “Focus on a quiet moment. The rustle of leaves, a secret shared, the sound of your own thoughts. Capture the whisper.”
Day 5: Tea & Comfort. Focus: Warmth, ritual, stillness, coziness.
Prompt: “Time for a break. Write a haiku about a moment of comfort and quiet ritual. What does peace look like to you?”
Day 6: The Late Hour. Focus: Night, waiting, the feeling of being ‘late’.
Prompt: “For our White Rabbit inspiration: a haiku about the late hours, the feeling of time slipping away, or the quiet of midnight.”
Day 7: A Glimpse of Wonder. Focus: A moment of magic in the ordinary.
Prompt: “Look around you. Find one small, magical thing in your immediate surroundings. A beam of light, a pattern in the dust, a single flower. That is your haiku.”
Prompts are always gentle suggestions! Any Haiku shared in the chat will be added to the collaborative post! If you have a picture you want to go with your Haiku, drop it in the chat with your poem. So excited to see what everyone comes up with! Happy Poetry month!

Hi Dorie - I don't do chat - is there any chance I can just add my haiku here in the comments? Sorry to be cheeky!
